Julian and Olympia revisit a case they previously lost when their appeal results in a new trial. Parents Ana (Veronica Diaz Carranza) and Vanessa (Ayesha Harris) lost their baby son Dante after he drank contaminated baby formula, but in the first trial the manufacturers, led by foreman Harold Wong (Christopher Cho), successfully argued that they might have caused the contamination themselves.
Madeline is forced to face her own grief as she gets involved with the case and when a former friend, Stanley York (Henry LeBlanc) finds her and wants to talk about his own son’s ongoing relapse her initial sympathy is ultimately overridden by a determination to keep her past from Olympia.
